Looking for the ideal place
to live for someone on the go? Consider
Mission Valley, located right
in the center of San Diego, with proximity to three major malls,
CostCo as well as Qualcomm Stadium and convenient to Interstates
5, 8, 15, 163, 805 as well as the Trolley!
There are very few single family detached
homes in Mission Valley.
They range in price from $349,000 for a two bedroom, two bathroom
home built in 1929, to $980,000 for a 2300 square foot, three
bedroom, three bathroom house built in 2000. Since 1996, nearly
2,000 Mission Valley
condos have been built. They range in price from $234,000
for an 800 square foot, two bedroom, one bathroom home built
in 1973 to $770,000 for a three bedroom, two bathroom 1800 square
foot home built in 2005.
Mission Valley is experiencing phenomenal growth. New
gated condo complexes are springing up complete with workout
facilities, swimming pools and shuttle service. Since 2000,
the population has swelled 41.8 percent to almost 18,000. By
2030, local officials predict Mission Valley will be home to
some 28,000 San Diegans.
Because this growth was somewhat unanticipated, city services
are taking a little while to catch up.
Mission Valley residents are
demanding their own school, parks and fire department. Still,
there are signs that the city is waking up; the newest branch
of the San Diego Public Library system is in Mission Valley
with high-speed internet access and other excellent facilities.
