San Diego at #9 for Most Desirable Cities to Live…

Recently, San Diego was placed in the top 10 most desirable cities to live in the United States, a matter of fact at #9. You may be wondering why this is so true.

The number one reason residents and visitors alike love San Diego is the weather. San Diego is home in the rolling hills and mesas that ascend from the Pacific shore to unite with the Laguna Mountains just east of San Diego and is about 20 miles north of Mexico. The bay in San Diego is one the best natural harbors in the US and offers warm waters for those that enjoy a variety of water sports. Along with the beautiful beaches and water sports, San Diego also offers quite a different terrain than you might imagine including of course, miles of bay shoreline and miles of ocean shoreline along with forested hills, fertile valleys, canyons, mountains, and desert.

The weather must also differential just a tad as does the terrain. On the coastline, you can expect mild and constant temperatures throughout the year while in the desert area; temperatures have been known to fluctuate 30 degree in just one day.

San Diego is in the perfect location to allow the Pacific Ocean air to aid in keeping summers cool and winters warm. San Diego only average three thunderstorms per year with rare occurrences of any type of severe weather.

With an annual average of 9.32 inches of precipitation, you can realize just how much you can enjoy any outdoor activity. Along with this, you can add an annual average temperature of 63 degrees Fahrenheit, which makes for paradise on earth.

Looking throughout an entire year, the hottest months are August and September with daily highs in the upper 70’s, with no precipitation, humidity around 80% in the morning and lowering as the day progresses, with calm winds throughout the day. Winter months have mild temperatures around 50 degrees Fahrenheit for the low, but reaching the upper 60’s before the day is done.

If you want to talk about sunshine, then there is no place else for sunny days. On average during the winter months, you may experience a few cloudy days, however, the sun shines every day in San Diego.

The summer like weather year round gives families the opportunities to enjoy all the exciting family attractions and activities that San Diego has to offer. You may need a light jacket in the morning, but by noon, you can shed the jacket and soak up the sun any season of the year.
